About the Role

A growing financial services business is looking for an experienced Mortgage & Protection Broker to join its team in Rugeley.

The role is based within an established estate agency environment, providing the successful candidate with regular customer referrals and the opportunity to become a trusted financial advice specialist within the branch.

You will advise customers on mortgages and protection, supported by an experienced administration function that will manage much of the processing and paperwork. This allows you to focus on delivering quality advice, developing relationships and growing your business.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide whole-of-market mortgage advice in line with customer needs and circumstances.
• Research and recommend suitable mortgage products.
• Identify appropriate protection requirements and recommend relevant solutions.
• Build effective relationships with customers, introducers and lenders.
• Manage referred leads through the advice and application process.
• Work with the administration team to ensure applications progress smoothly.
• Maintain an accurate and well-organised pipeline.
• Ensure all advice meets regulatory and compliance standards.
• Maintain knowledge of mortgage and protection products, lender criteria and legislation.
• Undertake regular training and CPD.
• Support the wider team and contribute to a positive working culture.

Experience & Qualifications

• CeMAP qualified or equivalent.
• Previous experience in mortgage and protection advice.
• Strong understanding of the mortgage and protection markets.
• Experience using mortgage sourcing and research software.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Confident dealing with customers both in person and remotely.
• Strong relationship-building and presentation skills.
• Commitment to delivering excellent customer outcomes.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday, eight hours per day.
• Two later starts or finishes each week.
• Alternate Saturday working, with a weekday off in lieu.
• No Sunday working.

• £30,000 basic salary, with potential for an increase after probation.
