We’re excited to announce the opening of our new regional hub in Derby, which will allow us to tap into a stronger, deeper talent pool in the Midlands to support the network’s continued growth.
The East and West Midlands are areas well known for large numbers of financial services professionals and firms. The region is home to 1 in every 6 mortgage finance company roles in England and Wales1, representing a quarter of all such jobs outside London. It hosts 17% of these businesses, accounting for 21% of those outside the capital.
The refurbished premises at Gervase House in the historic Friar Gate area of the city will be used by around 45 Stonebridge colleagues and will prove instrumental we continue growing our headcount to support growth in our member firms.
The hub, a satellite office complementing our headquarters in Basildon, Essex, currently houses members of Stonebridge’s HR and finance teams, with additional roles being added throughout 2026.
The new hub also means existing network members have an additional location in which to meet Stonebridge’s support colleagues and members in person.
Rob Clifford, Chief Executive at Stonebridge, said: “Given the increasing popularity of hybrid versus permanent home working, we’ve been planning a regional hub for some time and I’m delighted that it has now become a reality. It’s a vote of absolute confidence in us by our shareholders, and it’s also a sign of our confidence in the Midlands.
“The region plays a key role in the UK economy as a centre for financial services firms outside London. Gervase House will support our expansion through local recruitment, increased collaboration, and improved accessibility for our network members who want to meet face to face.
“It is already providing a great working environment at this important crossroads for the team we are building here, and the wider 200 colleagues who will be able to use it as a base of operations when they need it.”
Last month, we announced the appointment of Liz Obee as the network’s latest National Recruitment Manager, charged with supporting our continued growth.
Stonebridge is one of the UK’s largest mortgage and protection networks and has arranged more than £17 billion of lending in the past 12 months. It currently operates nationwide with more than 1,350 advisers and recent independent industry research showed it recruited more ARs in 2025 than any other mortgage and protection network.
